American Car Nationals Incorporating Canberra Chrysler Day

26/09/2010 (All day)

The American Car Nationals is a static display of American Classic Cars of yesteryear. The event is held annually at the Queanbeyan Showground on the last Sunday in September. The origin of the American Car Nationals goes back to 1991 when a group of enterprising members of the American Car Club of Australia Inc. had the vision of an annual event where enthusiasts of American cars could meet to discuss their hobby and display their dream machines. In subsequent years the numbers have grown to more than 260 superbly presented American vehicles in 40 judging categories and Canberra Chrysler Day is now a regular and important feature of the Nationals, to include Australian Chryslers. The American Car Club of Australia Inc. has close links with the Shannon's Insurance Group who will again be the major sponsor of the event. Local businesses in the ACT and Queanbeyan have also been most supportive.

Lowest Price Promise

Our lowest price promise!

Yes, this is to counter Flight Centre's low price promise. Why? Flight Centre is interested in profit, not you. Flight Centre's Graham Turner's intent on getting higher commissions is clear, each book written about Flight Centre portrays a culture of growth and mocking travel industry standards when it suits. An in-house newsletter written by Turner in March and leaked to the media spelt out Flight Centre's hardline approach with Turner urging staff to "make stop-sell situations work and really hurt recalcitrant airlines". There's no mention of doing what's best for the customer, only a directive for Flight Centre staff to book you on an airline that pays the most commission.

Flight Centre's promise undermines the travel industry, your agent works for you, putting time and effort into finding the best travel and accommodation. Flight Centre then offers to beat the price with no work involved...... How would you like to spend the day working, give it to your boss, he hands it to someone else who then offers to redo it for $10 less, with you not getting paid. That arrangement wouldn't last long!

Flight Centre aren't cheap, they have huge overheads, hundreds of shops in high rent locations and millions spent in advertising. Their offer is laziness, letting other agents do the work!

Therefore, if you been given an available price, let Posh Packing Info give you the choice of better price or a better holiday, we'd prefer to give you a great holiday!*
